| The ASEAN - Australia Energy Policy System Analysis Project (EPSAP) is hosted by ACE since March 1999.
The objective is to enhance the capacity of the ASEAN energy policy makers and planners to assess the impacts and cost effectiveness of alternative energy policy options which could assist countries to formulate policies and programmes to help meet the demand for energy services at lease cost. This project is participated by five (5) ASEAN Member Countries, namely:
- Indonesia
- Malaysia
- Philippines
- Thailand
- Vietnam
In 2003, the following activities were accomplished under the project:
- First national energy policy issue reports from the five countries and preparation for the second policy reports;
- Completion of the first regional policy issue report on the Trans-ASEAN Energy Network which is under review by the Australian Managing Contractor;
- Participated in 2 nd Meeting of the Australia - ASEAN Markal Users Group (AAMRUG) on 13-14 August 2003 in Hanoi, Vietnam;
- Participated in Sixth Project Co-ordinating Committee (PCC) Meeting on 14-15 August in Hanoi, Vietnam;
- Two technical exchange visits by Member Countries of ACE headquarters in April and August 2003; and
- Start of EPSAP activities for Cambodia, Lao PDR and Myanmar since September 2003.
